MOULTRIE -- Marie Demeester Burnham, 78, of Leesburg, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Paul Voyles officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
Casketbearers will be Tracy Burnham, Marty Hubbard, Tony Burnham, Tommy Burnham, Kenneth Harris, Jr., Gene Seybold and David McLeod. Honorary casketbearers will be Ray Burnham and Steve Burnham.
Born May 21, 1933 in Stratfordville, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Leon Demeester and Ida Pickersgill Demeester. She was a homemaker, was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Albany Moose Lodge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Roebuck Burnham; two brothers, Leon Demeester and Tony Demeester; and one grandchild, Randee Lovett.
Survivors include one daughter, Jacqueline Harris and husband Ken of Leesburg; one son, Leonard Ricky Burnham and wife Teresa of Worth County; two sisters, Donna Seghers and husband Roger of Stratfordville, Ontario and Norma Jean Poirier and husband Cyrice of Prince Edward Island, Canada; six grandchildren, Christie Burnham, Amy Burnham, Jazzie Harris, Kenneth Harris, Jr., Olesya de Graaf and Gene Seybold; six great-grandchildren, Lilly Simone, Nevan Seybold, Gavin Seybold, Aiden Seybold, Corron Seybold and Torianna Seybold; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Louise Holloway.
The family received friends from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM Friday, January 27, 2012 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
