ALBANY -- Robert "Bob" White, the man behind one of Albany's longest-running businesses, has died. He was 95.

White's funeral is set for 11 a.m. today at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors.

White was widely known partially for operating Bob White Rents on Broad Avenue, which he opened in 1957. It remains open today.

According to his obituary, White, an Ohio native, came to Albany as a navigator cadet assigned to Turner Field.

A veteran of both World War II and Korea, White retired in 1953 as a lieutenant colonel and started United Rentals, which he renamed Bob White Rents in 1957.
