Shabreka Lenora Farrey, daughter of Gracie Lunsford

Farrey of Albany, GA and the late Acie J. Farrey, Jr. and

Seward Sawba Jartu, son of Mr. Albert Jartu and Mr.

and Mrs. Emmanuel Freeman of TN, wed on June 9,

2012.

The bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and

Mrs. Ben Lunsford, Sr. of Albany, GA and the late Mr.

and Mrs. Acie Farrey Sr. of Akron, OH.

The groom’s grandparents are Mrs. Rachael Askie

Cooper of Boston, MA, and the late Mr. Frank George

Cooper.

The ceremony was performed at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion

Missionary Baptist Church, Albany, GA with the Rev.

Dr. Daniel Simmons officiating. The flowers and candles

were offered in loving memory of Shabreka’s father by

her mother.

Music was provided by vocalist Mr. Gabriel Powell.

Miss Farrey was escorted and presented in marriage by

her brother; Mr. Acie Farrey, Jr. the bride wore a white

satin halter A-line gown with beaded lace appliqués, and

a chapel length train. The gown’s fitted bodice gradually

flared from the waist and the hem was bordered by lace

cut-outs. The bride’s ensemble was completed with a

floor length veil with scalloped beaded edges. Accentuating

the bride’s wedding attire were beautiful diamond

earrings, a wedding gift from the groom.

Dr. Kajuana Pearldelia Farrey of Albany, GA, sister of

the bride, served as maid of honor. Mrs. Kayla Willis

Mitchell of Hampton, VA, friend of the bride served as

matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Michella Farrey,

cousin of the bride, Akron, OH, Miss Jonna Brenae

Lunsford, cousin of the bride, Fitzgerald, GA, Attorney

Onyema Anene, friend of the bride, Atlanta, GA, Miss

Bethany Jean Lampley, cousin of the bride, Albany, GA.

Mrs. Dedea Zaza, cousin of the groom, Boston, MA

and Mrs. Mardeea Clark Jartu, sister-in-law of the

groom, Atlanta, GA, Miss Meshay Farrey, cousin of the

bride, Akron, OH and Mrs. Serenity Johnson, friend of

the bride, Albany, GA served as flower girls.

The groom’s best man were Mr. Sewell Jartu, of Atlanta,

GA, twin brother of the groom, and Mr. Corey

Cross, friend of the groom, Albany, GA.

Groomsmen were Mr. Alex Covin, cousin of the bride,

Mr. Ryan Davis, friend of the groom, Mr. Jeremy

Dumas, friend of the groom, all of Albany, GA. Mr.

Jonathan Harp, friend of the groom, Mr. Oscar

Merideth, cousin of the bride, Atlanta, GA and Mr.

Alex Stonecipher, friend of the groom, Perry, GA.

Serving as hostesses were Miss Camile Colson, Miss

Tatnai Whitehead, and Miss Frenise Venisee, all of

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, all of Atlanta, GA,

friends of the bride Matyka Holton and Diandra Randle

of Atlanta, GA, and cousin of the bride, Miss Nia

Moyer of Atlanta, GA.

Mrs. Michele Lunsford Newton and Mrs. Kimberly

Merideth Taylor served as wedding coordinators. Others

assisting in the wedding were Ms. Doretha Farrey, Ms.

Sharon Farrey and Mr. Robert Farrey, all of Akron,

Ohio.

The reception was held at the Hilton Garden Inn’s

ballroom in Albany, GA. The bride and groom honeymooned

in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The couple will reside

on Atlanta, GA.
