ALBANY, Ga. — According to Albany Police Department reports, a 12-year-old boy started the blazing destruction of a multi-story structure at 141 N. Jackson St. at 2:40 p.m. Monday.
Police said the juvenile was charged with arson in the first degree. No injuries from the fire were reported.
In another arrest, police reported an unnamed suspect was taken into custody for stabbing 19-year-old Aaron Thomas during a fight at about 3:25 p.m. Thursday on the 900 block of Leisure Court. Thomas was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and his condition was not immediately available.
Police also reported the following investigations Thursday:
— DeCorey Bailey, 29, suffered a non, life-threatening gunshot to his calf. He said it happened on the 400 block of Harmon Avenue. While at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Bailey made inconsistent statements about the shooting to investigators, police said.
— A man attempted to break into 224 Johnson Road Spee-Go convenience store at about 2:15 a.m. by breaking out a front glass door with a rock. Nothing was stolen.
