Price has a vision for Dougherty schools

I have worked with Lane Price in a variety of capacities; currently, we are serving on the same church search committee. I have grown to appreciate her integrity, wisdom and administrative ability. I proudly support Lane Price’s candidacy for the Dougherty County School Board.

An authentic person, Lane sees issues clearly and keeps her responses real and focused. She does not get caught up in rhetoric that sidelines progress. She identifies the problem, considers the potential solutions and goes to work making the right things happen.

Lane began her career as a high school science teacher in Americus. It was a challenging time. The night before school started, the building burned to the ground. Forced to rely on her own ingenuity, Lane turned real life problems into learning experiences for her students. Her classroom instruction continued no matter where the classroom was located. This teacher turned physician has a genuine love for students, and when making decisions, she will prioritize their needs over all else.

Lane values the work of those who serve on the frontlines of education. Instead of turning to furlough days in a knee jerk response to budget shortfalls, Lane will plan for the future. She will develop strategies and weave accountability into every stage of the process.

To attract new business to our community, we must improve our schools. We must offer an educated workforce as well as excellent schools for employee’s children to attend. Lane understands the relationship between schools and business. She knows that our economic progress hinges on the success of the school board.

Lane Price has a vision for our schools. She has the character and the ability to make that vision a reality. Let’s elect her and give her the opportunity to make Dougherty County Schools healthy again.
