Squawk of the Day - July 14, 2012

"This illegal waste of school finances is what happens when an incompetent bunch of school board members hires a friend that’s ranked near the last of applicants based on qualifications. Murfree apparently thinks he can dole out money as he pleases. The governor will rectify this problem before long."

Albany's next. Just like Clayton County. But they can get their act together is they refuse that Title I money. They would have to shut the doors without it.

The squawker is 100% correct. The incestuous nest of rogues that rule DCSS have robbed the students and families of educational services and profefessional leadership by hiring an incompetent rube who was on a career track headed out of ASU. Board member Anita Brown-Williams was the leader in the decision to hire him and she dishonestly failed to report that he was an officer in her private business. The families who have children in the Doughtery County School System should be outraged with the Board for not only damaging the educational services away but also squanedring the support funds designated for the students. Resources that went to pay lunches for kids of Velvet Riggins and Gloria Baker and pay Murfree's bosom buddy Sabb $91,000 for nothing.

When Velvet Riggins, a proven liar and thief, can run for reelection unopposed that sort of shows how much the people of Albany care about education.

The pastors of the larger churches would not allow it. This is their opportunity to get directly into the checkbook of the DC tax payers, witness Sabb, Riggins, Baker, Washington ($18,000 for motivational speaking), and #34. Their attitude is to heck with the poor kids and families, we're talking new Eldorados here.

Eldos ain't jack no more. It's Jaguars and exotic Mercedes and BMWs ($125K at least!!!) that makes the man now.

Last El Dorado made was 02 - hard to find a new one, I suspect.

I know you're right about the Eldorados. What was I thinking?

Anita Brown-Williams should be reprimmanded for not disclosing information about him being an officer in her private business. Isn't that not conflict of interest? $91,000 would have gone a long way in support funds for the students. We do have allots of incompetence here including Murfree. Our students deserve better than this. When the community knows all of this and does nothing about it there are reasons to be concerned why we allow just anything to work in these positions.

It's a good start with the removal of Velvet Riggins. Next, Anita Brown Williams needs to be voted off the School Board. Next, with the amount of corruption from this School Board and Mr. Murfree, there must be outrage from the entire community, and a calling for Mr. Murfree's resignation. There is no confidence in his ability to lead this School's system. Therefore he should be removed ASAP! Supporters of this group only show their ignorance of the issues, and a lack concern for the children's education. If the School Board does not take prompt action to resolve these blunders and fire the incompetents, then the next steps are to vote Bush and "June Bug" Griffen off of the Board. It is time for major changes to restore discipline and accountability.

If Velvet runs unopposed for reelection who is going to vote anyone off the board? The good people of Albany have spoken... They don't care!

Remember folks, majority rules. None of the bad board members will be voted off. The only hope for change within the school system is for the State to take over. That could happen, but just think of all the controversy that would cause. At least we would get to see Jesse Jackson again. Does anyone know if Murfree got the credentials to qualify as superintendent? He didn't have them when hired and we hired a tutor for #34 (I like that). I wonder if he got them or if he just took the tutor to lunch at Ryans.

Supposedly he completed the process and met the criteria. Problem is the origional job posting required it to be inplace prior to application

walt, that's news that he completed the process. The process was no where complete when he was hired. In fact, the decision making process was aborted in favor of #34. They would not release his application or his scoring levels until after the hiring was a done deal. I'm not sure the entire original application was ever produced. I heard from a board member that his syntax and reasoning was so flawed members of the incestuous ruling rogues had to supply information. The decision for his hiring was an illegal decision made outside a board meeting by the incestuous nest of ruling rogues. Please tell me where I can see this man's completed application from the original interviewing and scoring process. When Anita Brown Williams was pressed on this issue she said, "we're thinking out of the box here." No kidding! Velvet Riggins agreed with her and said we're going to feed and clothe these poor children. She neglected to report it was her own to which she was referring.

I read somewhere a heated race for Coroner in some county has caused one of the candidates to use the Freedom of Information Act to gather information about a person's military record who claims he was a Vietnam War veteran when in fact he was not. He was a Vietnam War era veteran, of which there is a difference. If someone can access someone's military record via the FOIA I don't know why they can't access Murphy's information via the same act that allowed the individual to find out information on #34. Of course the man's full military record was not exposed, just his time in service and where he had served, and whether or not he was in violation of the Stolen Valor Act. Anyone want to take a stab at the FOIA? I would think if a man's military record is public knowledge that #34's information should be too.

We can see why ASU was glad to get rid of #34. I am sure they were talking out of both sides of their mouths. On one side they are praising #34 and recommending him, on the other side they are saying, Gee are we glad to get that clown out of here. Lord have mercy on the DCSS and pray for the children.

Now are any of you people contacting any outside sources to get them interested in this mess that is going on? My poor fingers are almost worn out from all the typing I have been doing... contacting every news source from Maine to California trying to get someone interested in the story. Remember the time someone planted the tiny seed about the city commissioners in California who were using the city funds for their private bank, giving themselves, in some cases, salaries with bonuses that topped $2 million.....well somehow that tiny seed grew and exploded and soon the story was all over the place and soon the crooks were exposed. Come on.......you can do it!! Expose these people for what they are.

The feds need to cut off Title I funds. If its being squandered - it needs to be cut off. I don't like my federal tax dollars being wasted and stolen any more that I like to lose my local school tax money.
