Man hospitalized in shooting

ALBANY, Ga. -- A 24-year-old man was shot three times early Monday in what has been labeled an aggravated assault incident, Albany Police Department reports show.

The shooting occurred at 1001 Dunes Ave., the site of Dunes Mobile Home Park in East Albany, on Lot 33. The victim in the case, identified as Martin Dollar, 24, told police that a man knocked on the door. When Dollar answered, the gunman asked for a ride. When Dollar refused, the suspect began firing shots, police officials said.

Reports indicated that the incident took place between 12:30 a.m.-1 a.m. and that officers found the victim lying on the ground.

Dollar was initially thought to have been shot twice, but after he had been transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, it was discovered that he had been struck three times: in the right arm, in the buttocks and in the hip, officials said Monday.

A description of the gunman given by police indicated he was a bald, black male wearing an orange polo shirt and blue jeans.

As of Monday afternoon, Dollar was listed in serious condition at Phoebe, a hospital spokeswoman said. Such a prognosis generally indicates that vital signs may be unstable and not within normal limits, and that the patient is acutely ill and indicators are questionable.

Gee, that pretty much narrows it down don't it. He stands out. Someone fitting his description ought not be too hard to find. Odds are the victim knows exactly who shot him, why he shot him, and where they can find him. Perhaps the one who seeks revenge will be a better shot.
