SMITHVILLE, Ga. — A 10-year-old Smithville boy died from a .410 shotgun wound to the leg after he was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, according to a Georgia Bureau of Investigation report.
Rickie Jenkins was shot by a 7-year-old neighbor boy while the two played with a loaded shotgun they found in a 141 Railroad Street residence, GBI special agent-in-charge Danny Jackson said.
“There are no charges at this time,” Jackson said, “but there very well may be.
