ALBANY, Ga. — Albany Crime Stoppers honored retired Dougherty County Police Department Capt. Jimmy Sexton at its monthly meeting Tuesday with a plaque. Sexton retired from the county police department June 1 after about 34 years of duty. During his time on the force, he also served on the Crime Stoppers board of directors.
“He was on the Crime Stoppers board before we started it up again in 2006 and he joined the board again,” Crime Stoppers Chairman Jason Thornhill said. “We thought we should recognize him for his service to Crime Stoppers, the Dougherty County Police and the community.
