CUTHBERT, Ga. — Families in this small community will have the opportunity to gather at Randolph County Elementary School Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. to share in free health screenings, officials with Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital say.
A consortium of medical, educational, governmental and nonprofit organizations will sponsor the second annual fair. Southwest Georgia Regional Medical Center and Phoebe Putney Health System will provide blood pressure, body mass index, diabetes and cholesterol screenings, coordinators say.
Participants are required to fast from midnight until the screening. A continental breakfast, lunch and T-shirts will be offered for free to participants, coordinators say.
Officials also say that educational displays and workshops will be held throughout the morning, and door prizes will be awarded at the end of the program.
Hannah Orlowski, director of the Diabetes Care Center at Phoebe, is expected to be the event’s guest speaker.
