Albany blood drive will impact 54 lives

The American red Cross would like to thank the community of Albany for supporting the recent blood drive held at the Albany Donor Center on July 4. Without the help of dedicated donors and volunteers in our community, the Red Cross would not be able to collect the lifesaving blood that so many patients count on.

We would like to thank The Albany Herald and GooGoo Car Wash for sponsoring the drive. The Albany herald, WALB, Fox 31 and Clear Channel radio stations did a wonderful job of promoting the blood drive. Because the community answered the call to help patients in need, we collected 18 pints of blood. To put that in perspective, more than 54 lives will be touched by the generosity of donors at this drive.

On behalf of all the patients who will benefit from your donation, the Red Cross thanks everyone who participated. Each individual should take great pride in this accomplishment.
