CAMILLA -- Betty Joe Willingham, 81, of Hopeful died Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, July 23, 2012 at Hopeful Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Andy Hall will officiate with Rev. Ronnie Kinsaul assisting.
Mrs. Willingham was born October 24,1930 in Mitchell County to the late Carl Minor and Ella Mae Bostick Sullivan. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Hilton Burnum Baggs and Billy Vance Willingham. She retired after 32 years of teaching in many of the area schools. Mrs. Willingham enjoyed traveling, cooking, and was a caregiver. She was a member of the Hopefuls and the Hopeful Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Joe Dawson and husband, Kevin of Vada; a son, Robert H. Baggs and wife, Miriam of Hopeful; step-son, Charles Willingham and wife, Ann of Thomasville; sister, Sarah Ann Ross and husband, Richard of Vada; grandchildren, Joshua Baggs and wife, Heather of Hopeful, Kyle Dawson and Karly Dawson; step-grandchildren, Julia Simpson and Joe Willingham; and special caregivers, Heidi Turner and Geraldine Crump.
Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 AM, Monday, one hour prior to services at Hopeful Baptist Church.
