Fowler committed to serving young people

Michael Fowler, candidate for Dougherty County coroner, is committed to serving young adults and youth in local and surrounding communities.

By engaging them in educational and recreational activities, he hopes to fulfill his vision of making a positive difference in their lives. Michael has a proven record of community service assisting youth.

He is one of the sponsors for the annual Battle of the South Basketball Tournament, which showcases the talents of semi-professional and professional athletes. Some of featured players at this year’s tournament included Darnell Harvey and Demetrious Bennett.

Michael is also founder of S.O.L.A.C.E. (Stretching Out Loving Arms Creating Encouragement), a program which teaches teens and young adults to make appropriate life choices. I have come to know him as a man with very strong work ethic and commitment to helping people better their lives through education and training. Michael is the kind of person who encourages others to give their best effort in all of their endeavors.

He is a living proof that through hard work and an unshakable commitment to his faith, it is possible to achieve your life’s goals.

Somehow I don't feel right about a statement saying the potential; Coroner wants to serve young folks. I know what you meant by the letter, but it just sounds wrong. Don't need a bunch of young folks dying do we?

But what does any of that have to do with the job for which he's campaigning? IIRC, his opponent also touted her devotion to serving the area youth. The only people they should be concerned with serving are dead people, which hopefully won't be any youths. While your extracurricular interests are commendable, tell us why you deserve our vote for coroner.

@LuLu... Maybe u perceive the wrong idea...or just need better judgement of this letter. In no shape, fashion or form does this letter speak death among any young people whatsoever. It's all about bringing life to youth who you see on the streets of Dougherty county, or ones that don't have a prospective future... Or an idea what they want to be. All they know is what mom or dad has taught them. Every parent doesn't teach thier child to better themselves. It will hurt a lot of people to stop a random fifteen year old and ask them what do they know about a job or what skills do they have to prepare them for a progressing world. Mr. Fowler doesn't just empliment his abilities to run for coroner, but he shows integrity and hope for people who don't have a thing, but wish to have! I get frustrated with the community when they have a gift from God, but refuse to let your opinions just because u don't know them get in the way... This man has willingly poured his heart out to young people who desire to be better. And I can say that proudly because he has instructed me how to be a man and handle responsibilities to become someone responsible... Don't miss out on someone who won't overlook u when your in need!

God bless.

That's all fine, well and good. But here just days before the election, we should be hearing about why he deserves our vote for the job of coroner, not about his extracurricular activities.
