Albany -- Gladys Greer Howard, age 83, of Albany and formerly of Moultrie, died Friday, July 27, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, July 30, 2012 from Rose of Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating. Interment to follow in Rose of Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery with Lee Howard, Hunter Caraway, Andy Howard, Brian Craig II, Alex Howard, and Josh Horn serving as casketbearers.
Gladys was born November 19, 1928, in Doerun, GA to the late Ira Allen Greer and Hattie Huey Greer. She was a homemaker and a member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Franklin Howard, Sr.; a son, Bobby Howard; and nine brothers and sisters; a son-in-law, Junior Craig; and a special friend, the late Waldo Lindsey.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, James Howard, Jr. of Norman Park, GA, Rickie Howard and wife, Wanda of Albany, GA, Barry Howard and wife, Patricia of Americus, GA, Randy Howard and wife, Donna of Ochlocknee, GA, Chris Howard of Albany, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila Lash and husband, Sonny of Leesburg, GA, Sherra Craig of Doerun, GA, Jackie English of Ellaville, GA, June Dell Harden of Leesburg, GA, and Regina Horn of Americus, GA; two sisters, Hazel Howell of Sylvester, GA and Irene Daniels of Valdosta, GA; twenty nine grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday, July 30, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church.
