Mary Johnson Kelly was given a failure to maintain lane ticket after driving her pickup onto a sidewalk. The pickup then wedged itself between two concrete walls under a railroad track bridge on the 300 block of East Broad Avenue at about 5:50 p.m. Friday a police report stated.
According to the report, Kelly drove her 2000 Ford ranger west on East Broad when she left the lane and veered right onto the sidewalk “until it collided with the walls on either side of the pedestrian passageway beneath the railroad overpass.”
Kelly “behaved and looked to be disoriented. She said she is a heart and diabetes patient recently released from the hospital,” the report added.
Kelly was trapped in the pickup until a wrecker pulled it out from between the walls, a report stated. Albany Fire Department firefighters extricated Kelly from the pickup. No injuries were reported.
