Lee County native and award-winning country singer Luke Bryan has scored his third consecutive platinum single with the song, “Drunk on You.” The song is currently sitting in the Top 5 country singles chart, according to statement from Capitol Records.
The single follows “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)” and “I Don’t Want This Night To End,” from Bryan’s album “tailgates & tanlines,” which were both also certified platinum by RIAA. Only two other artists, Taylor Swift and Macon’s Jason Aldean, have three consecutive platinum singles from their current album offering.
Bryan is scheduled to perform his current single tonight on the CMT Music Awards, where he is also nominated for Male Video of the Year.
In addition, Bryan is nominated for Choice Male Country Artist at the Teen Choice Awards, scheduled for July 22. In September, he will co-host with Kimberly Perry of The Band Perry, a three hour television special called “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock,” which is being filmed this week in Nashville, Tenn.
