CAMILLA -- Jimmy G. Barnett, Sr., 76, of Newton, died Wednesday, June 06, 2012 at Calhoun Nursing Home in Edison.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2012 at Live Oak Freewill Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Marv McDaniel, Rev. Melvin Moody, and Rev. Jamie Sanders will officiate.
Pallbearers will include Baker County Class of 1955.
Born March 14, 1936 in Baker Co., Mr. Barnett was the son of the late Janie Lois Barnett and John Leckie Barnett. He was a member and former Deacon of Live Oak Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Barnett was a retired farmer and served in the United States Coast Guard. He served on the Baker Co. Board of Education for 32 years. Mr. Barnett was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Evelyn Barnett.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Ashley Barnett of Baker Co.; children, Tara Barnett Adams and husband, Lamar of Orlando, Fl., Jimmy Glenn Barnett, Jr. of Baker Co., Malcon Trent Barnett and wife Kimberly of Ocala, Fl., Leckie Ashley Barnett of Albany, Mistee Barnett Barfield and husband, Shane of Leesburg.; 11 Grandchildren, and 12 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla.
