ALBANY -- A bullet hit 26-year-old Marquez Young in the left leg above the ankle about 1:50 a.m. June 6, stated an Albany Police Department report. Officers interviewed Young in the Phoebe Putney Hospital Emergency Center.
That much was true, a Tuesday report stated. Young's story about a fight with a man in a Mustang who shot him, however, was a lie, police said. Young was charged with filing a false report, said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman.
"He had an argument with an unknown female at 317 Vick St.," Banks said. "She went into the building and returned with a weapon. She fired at him and the bullet struck the sidewalk and then him (Young.)"
