SYLVESTER -- Mrs. Lennie D. Key, 88, of Sylvester died Monday June 12, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday June 15, 2012 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Poulan Cemetery with Rev. Mike DeLoach officiating.
Mrs. Key was born on June 8, 1924 to the late William Benjamin and Annie Drummond in Sipsey Alabama and has lived in Worth County since 1962. Mrs. Key was a homemaker who enjoyed working in her yard, gospel singing and playing the piano. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Key was an active member of the Poulan Baptist Church and her Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her daughter, Frances Key Nichols of Poulan; grandchildren, Myla N. Gunter (Chad), Greg Crocker (Gina), Daryl McGirt (Connie), Brian McGirt (Charlotte); great grandchildren Hannah & Marley Gunter, Chance & Lea Anna Crocker, J.D. McGirt, Jr., Taylor, Lakyn and Bailey McGirt.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Key was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie L. Key on June 14, 1972, a daughter Anne McGirt Cochran and 5 siblings.
The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 PM until service hour at Banks Funeral Home.
