ALBANY -- Mr. Howard Alvis Hewett, 88 of W. 2nd Ave. in Albany died June 14, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be Saturday 2 pm at Kimbrell-Stern. Dr. William (Butch) Knight officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery with military honors.

A native of Albany, Mr. Hewett was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church, the Elks Club and owner of Advance Plumbing Co. for 45 years. Mr. Hewett served in the United States Navy during World War II. He loved to dance, fish and enjoyed spending time with his family. He will always be remembered as a loyal Atlanta Braves fan.

Survivors include his daughters, Paula Fore and her husband Donald of Albany, Jeffie Casey and her husband Steve of Ormond Beach, FL, grandchildren, Jeff Dunham, Jason Hewett and his wife Anna Pepper, Kelli Fore and Brooke Hayes, sister-in-law, Frances Lancaster, special friends of the family, Nita Hall and Angie Smith both of Albany and many special friends at the Elks Lodge and the American Legion.

Mr. Hewett was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Cobb Hewett, son, Jerry Hewett, granddaughter, Heather Hayes, one sister and three brothers.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Kimbrell-Stern, and will be at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Donald Fore 2105 Cameron Dr., Albany, GA 31721.
