VIDALIA -- Susan Braswell McIntyre, age 58 of Vidalia, died Friday, June 15, 2012 in the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia. She was a native of Albany, a 1972 Graduate of Albany High School and moved to Toombs County in 1983. She earned her Associate Degree from Albany State, Bachelor's in recreation therapy from the University of Georgia and Master's in education from Nova University. Susan was a special needs teacher at the Toombs Middle School for thirty years and was an active supporter of the Special Olympics and Autism Speaks. She was a former member of the ABWA, a member of the Vidalia Presbyterian Church and was preceded in death by her parents, James Augusta Braswell and Mildred Louise Williams Braswell.
Mrs. McIntyre is survived by her husband, Massie H. McIntyre; one daughter, Anna Louise McIntyre; one son, Andrew McIntyre and wife Ashley all of Vidalia and several cousins in Moultrie and Tennessee.
The funeral service will be held Monday, June 18th at 10:00 am in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Kevin Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 Monday in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00.
