ASHBURN -- A 6-year-old boy nearly drowned in a pool over the weekend in Ashburn, officials with Turner County EMS confirmed Monday.
The incident took place at around 7:45 p.m. Sunday at 209 King Burgess Circle, interim Turner County EMS Director Curt Pylant said.
The child was found in a pool, after which his grandfather and an off-duty paramedic resuscitated him before the ambulance arrived, Pylant said.
"The grandfather and the off-duty paramedic did a great job," he said. "They probably saved this kid."
The child was taken to Tift Regional Medical Center. Pylant said Monday evening he was not sure of the boy's condition.
