Scales may balance in favor of America

The major cause for wars has been the acquisition of land and raw materials. However, American involvement in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the 1st Persian War, and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan give a different interpretation.

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell stated that Americans fought in those seven wars to preserve freedom. Powell said, "The only amount of land we have asked for in return is enough land to bury those American soldiers who did not return to America."

Perhaps when the scales are balanced, the good deeds of Americans will overcome the sinful behavior of many Americans. (John 10:11, John 15:13, Psalms 118:24 NIV)

During the Revolutionary War, American patriot Nathan Hale was hanged as a spy. Hale's last words were, "I regret that I have only one life to lose for my country."
