CUTHBERT -- Nancy Kaye Anthony, 62 from Brandenburg, Kentucky, and formerly of Frederick, Maryland and Columbia, South Carolina, died Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Jewish Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 23rd at 11:00 AM at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Edison, GA with Dr. William M. Starling presiding.
Mrs. Anthony was born on November 13, 1949 in Cuthbert, Georgia, daughter of Col. James H. Blankenship (Ret) and Shirley Ann Beckham Blankenship. After having been trained at the Georgia Southwestern State University School of Nursing, she worked as a registered operating room nurse at hospitals in the Atlanta, Georgia and Huntsville, Alabama metro areas. Mrs. Anthony also served as secretary to the Executive Officer of the Stars and Stripes Newspapers headquartered in Darmstadt, Germany, and owned and operated a gift shop in Vine Grove, Kentucky. She loved animals and was a member of the Pets In Need Society (PINS).
Mrs. Anthony is survived by her parents and brother, James B. Blankenship, of Edison, GA, her husband, James Anthony of Brandenburg, Kentucky, and her nephew, Mason C. Johnson of Frederick, Maryland.
Flowers may be sent to Lunsford Funeral Home, 54 Court St, Cuthbert, GA 39840. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church, P. 0. Box 477, Edison, GA, 39846, or charity of your choice. The family will receive friends at Salem Baptist Church, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM before the graveside service, and afterwards for a luncheon.
