Phoebe hosting blood drive today

ALBANY, Ga. — In response to a critical need for blood, Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital is set to host a blood drive today.

The American Red Cross has declared an emergency blood shortage, prompting Phoebe to host a blood drive from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., officials with the hospital say.

Individuals who are 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in general good health are eligible to give blood and are asked to donate. The drive is open to the general public. All blood types are needed.

Walk-in donors should come to Phoebe’s main campus. The blood drive is taking place in the hospital’s cafeteria.
