ALBANY -- Retta Brantley was born April 23, 1923 to the late Jim Abrams and Irene Coleman-Abrams.
She joined her heavenly father on June 24, 2012 while a patient at the Willson Hospice House. She was preceded in death by her three sons, June, Bobby, and Jeffery.
Retta confessed her life to Christ at a young age and continued to be active throughout her life. She was a member on First Monumental Faith Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Roosevelt Carter, Sr.
She leaves to mourn and cherish her memories one devoted sister, Freddie Jones of Shellman, Georgia; four grandchildren, Kara (Ernie) Johnson, Karyn Griffin, Kim Davis all of Mobile, Alabama, and Kyle Davis of Atlanta, Georgia; nine great grandchildren three great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. A special thanks to her niece and nephew, Jimmy Jones and Inell Wilson.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 12:00PM at New Dimension/Olive South, 2505 M. L. King, Jr. Drive. Rev. Roosevelt Carter, Sr. will officiate. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held today, Friday, June 29, 2012 from 9:00AM until 8:30PM at M. L. King Southside Chapel, 1908 M. L. King, Jr. Drive.
