ALBANY, Ga. — A man reached out his car window, grabbed a woman's purse as he drove along Corn Avenue and dragged her along the road for more than three blocks as she held onto her purse.
According to an Albany Police Department report, 26-year-old Chase Luke Payne snatched Sherrell Henderson Jones's purse on the 700 block of Corn Avenue Monday night. Jones didn't let go of the driver's side door until Payne's silver or light-color, four-door Dodge Neon turned right onto the 700 block of South Madison Street.
Jones, 28, was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries, according to an APD spokeswoman. No word on her condition was immediately available.
