ALBANY — A man armed with a .25-caliber pistol shot up a 1637 Liberty Expressway Subway sandwich shop at about 9:25 p.m. Thursday.
A Dougherty County Police Department report stated that the man shot at a female clerk behind the counter but missed. He fired several rounds and ran away. There were no injuries reported in the shooting, and nothing was stolen.
“The clerk locked herself in the freezer,” police Capt. Jim Sexton said, “and the other clerk ran and hid in the bathroom.”
Police are searching for a black man standing 6 feet to 6 feet, 5 inches tall, with a slim build who wore plaid pajama pants, black shirt and a black hoodie over his face at the Subway.
Anyone with additional information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS (8477) or the Dougherty County Police at (229) 430-6600. The Spanish-speaking APD-COP Tip Line is (229) 434-2677.
