Police/Fire/EMS report for March 11, 2012

ALBANY — Albany police responded to at least 64 incidents Thursday into the early hours of Friday, according to available reports. Police responded to incidents including:

— Burglaries on the 1600 block of Maryland Drive, the 2200 block of Golfcourse Drive, the 300 block of Tremont Avenue, the 600 block of Swift Street, the 400 block of Kingswood Drive and the 400 block of North Haley Street;

— Thefts by taking on the 1100 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard, the 900 block of Willow Wood Drive, the 2300 block of Doublegate Drive, the 1200 block of Seventh Avenue, the 1100 block of East Roosevelt Avenue, the 2500 block of Sylvester Road, the 1200 block of Third Avenue and the 1900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive;

— Robbery by snatching on the 1200 block of Stuart Avenue;

— Disorderly conduct on the 1800 block of Greenvale Road, the 400 block of West Third Avenue, the 600 block of Cochran Avenue and the 300 block of West Highland Avenue;

— Interfering with a city officer on the 300 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard;

— Aggravated assaults on the 800 block of Cotton Avenue and the 1400 block of East Tift Avenue;

— Simple battery on the 300 block of Flintside Drive;

— Entering auto on the 2500 block of Barnesdale Way;

— Forgery on the 2300 block of Dawson Road;

— Missing juvenile on the 200 block of Thornton Drive;

— Terroristic threats and acts on the 200 block of Cordele Road;

— Injured person on the 2700 block of Oakridge Drive;

— Theft of service on the 700 block of North Westover Boulevard;

— Two incidents of men urinating in public on the 200 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard;

— Assaults (domestic) on the 2300 block of Cinnamon Court, the 800 block of West Jackson Street and the first block of Dobbs Drive;

— Battery on the 900 block of West First Avenue and the 400 block of West Society Avenue;

— Violation of family protection order on the 1500 block of Palmyra Road;

— Domestic disturbance on the 800 block of Cotton Avenue;

DOUGHERTY POLICE: Dougherty County Police responded to at least 10 calls Thursday, according to reports. Police responded to incidents including:

— Missing juvenile located on the 200 block of Thornton Drive and returned to his mother;

— Missing juvenile located by parents, lookout canceled as they reported to Albany Police Department on the 200 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard;

— Hospitalization report; boy swallowed ear drops on the 3100 block of War Eagle Drive;

— Family violence (verbal) on the 400 block of Redbud Road. A father and son were “highly intoxicated,” according to a police reprt.

DOUGHERTY COUNTY EMS: The Dougherty County Emergency Medical Service responded to 54 calls on Thursday, including 43 medical calls, nine trauma calls and two other calls. Medical calls included four for chest pain, four respiratory issues, one person fainted, one diabetic issue, two stroke symptoms, one choking, three mental health calls, six miscellaneous pain calls and 21 various medical calls. Trauma calls included two vehicle crash victims, two falls, one laceration, three other trauma calls and one fight/assault. Other type calls are typically medical alerts or standby.

ALBANY FIRE DEPARTMENT: The Albany Fire Department responded to eight incidents Thursday, including a fire safety program, an unauthorized burn, a vehicle fire, two false alarms, an Albany Police Department entry assist, an active alarm and an EMS assist.
