Suspect in child beating turns self in

ALBANY — A man accused of beating his girlfriend’s 3-year-old daughter about the face turned himself in to police at 12:20 p.m. Friday, according to an Albany Police Department report.

Jamie Jackson, 30, is in the Dougherty County jail charged with misdemeanor battery and felony aggravated battery, a jail spokeswoman said. He is scheduled to appear before a judge today, she added.

According to police reports, Jackson beat the child early Wednesday on the 2300 block of Sharon Drive. His 1996 Jeep Cherokee was found in Camilla, where Jackson has family.

At least until the judge releases him back out in the streets.

They need a special prison for those who abuse children. The sentencing should be rather lengthy as well.

If this thug is cold enough to do this to a child, what's to stop him from killing someone. No bail should be set. In fact, throw away the key.

That's if he did it, lets assume innocent until proven guilty. What about the mom, maybe throwing blame?

The Nancy Grace mentality strikes again---NOTHING has been suggested that the mother did anything out of the way===

No there shouldnt be a special prison.... I that the inmates in regular are especially hard on those who abuse and molest children.

He doesn't need to be in jail. He needs to be under the jail!
