WASHINGTON U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Moultrie, has scheduled two forums this Friday on the federal farm bill, including one in Tifton.
Chambliss' office says the forums will allow for discussion of the farm bill process and give farmers an opportunity to provide feedvack. These events are open to the press and public.
The Tifton meeting is at 2 p.m. at the University of Georgia Tifton Campus Conference Center, 15 EDC Road. Expected participants in addition to Chambliss are Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black, Charles Hall with the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association, Robert Redding with the Southern Peanut Farmers Federation and John Maguire with the National Cotton Council.
It will follow a 9 a.m. meeting in Jesup at the C. Paul Scott Polytechnical Center at Altamaha Technical College, 1777 W. Cherry St.
The lineup for that meeting includes Chambliss,Hall, Redding and Maguire, along with Zippy Duvall of the Georgia Farm Bureau.

Who cares........ The fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin, 17, was a senseless murder as far as we are concerned here in the community,and this paper should have a story on it in the NATIONAL NEWS SECTION....Albany Herald, wake up.....If this story can make NATIONAL NEWS, and the National Media, it should make your little country paper......
