SYLVESTER -- The funeral services for the late Mr. Tom Orbert Brown of 110 Roe Street, Sylvester, Georgia, who departed this life on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Phoebe North Hospital in Albany, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from the New Providence Baptist Church in Sylvester, Georgia with the Reverend Larry James officiating. Burial will follow in the Shepard Memorial Garden Cemetery in Sylvester, Georgia.
Mr. Tom Orbert Brown was born on August 11, 1919 in Worth County, Georgia.
At an early age, Tom joined the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Shingler, Georgia.
He was a man of many talents. As an occupation, he worked in construction until an accident rendered him disabled. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, raising hogs, gardening, and could clean any fish or animal that was put before him.
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, Betty Ann Walker, Jane Elaine Brown, Bontressa Brown, Vontreasa Brown, Greta James, all of Sylvester, Georgia; sons, Charlie James, Jr. of Orange California, Anthony Brown of Sylvester, Georgia, Daron (Qiana) Brown of Oak Harbor, Washington, fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, a host of loving nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends; "Special" friends, Dorothy Williams, Robert Young, and Billy Joe Green.
