ALBANY — After finishing first or second in nine of 10 categories to win last week’s Region 1-AAA title, Westover’s literary team will head to Houston County High Saturday to compete in the state meet.
At Region, Westover defended its 2011 crown by claiming six category titles in addition to three runners-up and one fourth place finish.
“I am extremely proud of our entire Literary Team. Westover will have 7 of the 10 possible categories represented at State Literary Meet this weekend,” Team coach Polly Stadnik said.
“Selina Bentley (team coach) and I believe our students have the ability to place in several individual events. Therefore, our chance of bringing home the State AAA Literary Title is well within our reach.”
