APD looking into south Albany robbery

ALBANY, Ga. — Armed with a handgun, three unidentified males robbed a man Sunday in south Albany.
Police responded to 2034 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive just after 6:30 a.m. Shatavon Hayes reported to officers that some cash had been forcibly taken from him.
Officials from the Albany Police Department said that officers responded to the location in reference to a robbery of a person. Upon their arrival, they made contact with Hayes, who stated that he got a ride in a white Ford Taurus from an unidentified man who drove him to that location.
Once there, two more males approached him with a black handgun and demanded money. After they got the his money, all three bandits rode away in the Taurus, Hayes told police.
Hayes was unharmed. The case remains active. Nothing further on the case was available Monday.
