ALBANY -- While responding to an alarm at an East Albany dental office, a 29-year-old Albany man was arrested for possession of marijuana.
An incident report from the Albany Police Department states that officers were responding to an activated alarm at 2009 E. Broad Ave., the site of the dental office of Dr. Carl Findley Jr., at 1 p.m. Sunday.
There, officers caught up to Martavius Mims -- who was standing in the driveway of the dental office, according to reports.
The narrative from the report states that the officer approached Mims and asked if he was in possession of any contraband, to which he said that he was not. The officer asked Mims for consent to search him, which he granted, the reports state.
In Mims' front left pant pocket was a small, plastic piece of a bag tied in a knot. A field test was done on the substance, which came back positive for marijuana, the report said.
The drugs, which was about $10 in value, according to the police report, were logged in as evidence to be tested in-house, the narrative stated.
Mims was arrested for possession of marijuana. The report said that he was an employee of the Albany Humane Society.
