ALBANY -- Thieves stole a white 1999 Acura at about 2 a.m. Thursday from Smart Cars on the 2200 block of North Slappey Boulevard, an Albany Police Department report says. The Acura didn't have its lights on and was spotted by a police patrol officer, who followed the car.

According to the report, the thieves traveled to Acker Avenue, went off the road and hit a dirt mound. Three people jumped from the vehicle and ran. Police caught one of the occupants, 18-year-old Michael Brown. Brown is charged with burglary and motor vehicle theft.

ALBANY POLICE: City police responded to at least 68 incidents Wednesday and into the early hours of Thursday, according to available police reports. Police responded to incidents including:

-- Burglary on the 1200 block of South Madison Street, the 200 block of Kalmon Avenue, the 1200 block of Kingstown Court, the 600 block of Gaines Avenue, the 100 block of Adams Street, the 2500 block of Cherokee Drive, the 2200 block of North Slappey Boulevard and the 1900 block of Avalon Avenue;

-- Theft by taking on the 2000 block of West Broad Avenue, the 300 block of Pine Avenue, the 900 block of West Highland Avenue, the 900 block of Pinedale Court, the 900 block of Johnson Avenue, the 400 block of West Residence Avenue, the 200 block of South Davis Street and the 2500 block of North Slappey Boulevard;

-- Entering auto on the 600 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard;

-- Deceased person on the 600 block of South Westover Boulevard;

-- Drug overdose on the 1300 block of East First Avenue;

-- Aggravated assault on the 200 block of West Third Avenue;

-- Missing person on the 800 block of Gordon Avenue;

-- Runaway juvenile on the 2000 block of West Broad Avenue and the 900 block of Lippitt Drive;

-- Interference with child custody on the 300 block of South Jackson Street;

-- Giving false name to officer on the 100 block of Cedar Lake Drive;

-- Recovered contraband, a plastic sandwich bag of marijuana on the 2500 block of Nottingham Way;

-- Simple battery (domestic) on the 1000 block of Swift Street;

-- Unruly guest (domestic) on the 2100 block of Devan Street;

-- Assault (domestic) on the 2900 block of Madeline Road, the 300 block of Tremont Avenue and the 300 block of Elsom Street;

-- Domestic (verbal) on the 2100 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive;

-- Domestic (unfounded) on the 1800 block of Seay Court, 2500 block of North Slappey Boulevard the 100 block of Almond Drive, the 1800 block of Sycamore Court and the 700 block of Johnson Avenue.

DOUGHERTY POLICE: County police responded to at least 16 calls, according to police reports.

Police responded to incidents including:

--Theft of dogs valued at $700 on the 800 block of Patterson Avenue;

-- Theft/family violence on the 5500 block of Hill Road.

DOUGHERTY COUNTY EMS: The Dougherty County Emergency Medical Service responded to 81 calls on Wednesday.

There were 58 medical calls, 19 trauma calls and four other calls. Medical Calls: Three chest pain, eight respiratory one seizure, one obstetrics, one choking, one stroke symptom, four mental health calls, four miscellaneous pain calls, three cardiac arrest and 32 various medical; Trauma calls: 12 vehicle crash victims, three falls, one laceration and three other trauma. Other type calls are typically medical alerts or standby.

ALBANY FIRE DEPARTMENT: The Albany Fire Department responded to 14 incidents, including two EMS assists, an authorized burn, CPR for cardiac arrest, a career fair, two active alarms, a false alarm, a vehicle fire, an electric short, a fire in woods, a trash fire and an apartment fire by child with lighter.
