ALBANY, Ga. — Imad Ata Sihwail, 35, of Wauchula, Fla., was sentenced to almost 20 years in prison for bank robbery Monday by Senior United States Judge Hugh Lawson, said Michael J. Moore, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia.
Sihwail pleaded guilty to robbing the First Community Bank of Tifton, the Wachovia Bank of Pooler, and the Bank of America in Bluffton, S.C., Moore said.
Sihwail was sentenced to 19 years and 2 months in prison, to be followed by 3 years supervised release and a $300 mandatory assessment fee. There is no parole in the federal system.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in both Georgia and South Carolina. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michael K. Dennard.
