ALBANY -- Albany police are searching for a 19-year-old Albany man in connection with an 8:32 p.m. Tuesday shooting that sent another man to the hospital.
The police are also searching for a black Dodge Charger that could have damage to its driver's side front door from hitting a pedestrian before 4 a.m. March 17.
In the shooting case, police reports say that Quintavis Mathis is wanted in reference to the shooting of 32-year-old Darryl Morris while on the 1900 block of Riverview Circle.
Morris suffered a gunshot to the leg and drove his Jeep Liberty into a tree at Blaylock Road near the Dougherty County Jail trying to escape the gunshots. At last report, a Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital spokeswoman said he was in good condition.
Albany police described Mathis as black, 5-foot-5, weighing about 133 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Police officers say he may be armed and should not be approached.
In a separate case, police would like community assistance with locating a vehicle and its driver that a hit a pedestrian and drove off. Anyone knowing the location of a black Dodge Charger that may have damage to the driver's side front door area is urged to call police.
The Charger is suspected in the hit and run injury of Daniel Perkins, 26, on the the 1600 Block of East Broad Avenue. He sustained several injuries as a result of the incident.
