ALBANY -- The Dougherty County Police Department is investigating the theft of a van valued at $3,000 from First Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 4325 Nichols St.
A thief described as a 6-foot-2 black man with dreadlocks drove away with the white 1996 Dodge 2500 15-passenger van with "New Salem Baptist Church" painted on its sides about 6:08 p.m. Wednesday.

ALBANY POLICE: Albany police responded to at least 42 incidents Wednesday into the early hours of Thursday, according to available police reports. Police responded to incidents including:
-- Public indecency, saggy pants on the 400 block of West Tift Avenue;
-- Public indecency, a man exposed himself on the 200 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard;
-- Entering auto on the 2300 block of Gillionville Road, the 500 block of Ebony Lane and the 2000 block of North Hardy Street;
-- Disorderly conduct on the 400 block of West Society Avenue and the 300 block of Mock Road;
-- Financial transaction card theft on the 500 block of Swift Street;
-- Burglary on the 500 block of Bobbitt Drive, the 300 block of Hudson Lane, the 1000 block of Tulsa Lane and the 1900 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard;
-- Theft by taking on the 2800 block of Ledo Lane, the 2200 block of Clark Avenue, the 400 block of Robinson Street, the 3000 block of Harvest Lane, the 2400 block of Habersham Road and the 400 block of Hope Street;
-- Battery on the 1700 block of Cordell Avenue and the 200 block of Thornton Drive;
-- Missing juvenile on the 1600 block of Beverly Avenue;
-- Aggravated assault on the 600 block of Heard Avenue;
-- Missing person on the 300 block of South Mock Road;
-- Assault (domestic) on the 1600 block of Whiting Drive;
-- Aggravated assault (domestic) on the 400 block of West Tift Avenue;
-- Theft by taking (domestic) 1900 block of West Broad Avenue and the 1200 block of Firestone Drive;
-- Vandalism (domestic) on the 900 block of West Whitney;
-- Domestic (unfounded) on the 100 block of Oak Street and the 200 block of Delta Street.
DOUGHERTY COUNTY EMS: The Dougherty County Emergency Medical Service responded to 57 calls on Wednesday.
There were 43 medical calls, 13 trauma calls and one other calls. Medical calls and trauma calls included but were not limited to six respiratory calls, five chest pains, 23 various medical calls, six falls, two vehicle crashes and one assault. Other types of calls are typically to assist other agencies, answer medical alerts or standby.
ALBANY FIRE DEPARTMENT: The Albany Fire Department responded to 10 incidents, including gas odor from an extinguished pilot light, two unauthorized burns, a false alarm, two vehicle fires, a mattress in a bedroom on fire, two vehicle crashes and a tree stump on fire.
