These bunch of clowns know we only have approximately a 15 percent tax base. Maybe we all need to move out of Albany and leave the commissioners supporting the tax base. They do not know what it is like living on a fixed income and trying to cough up what we owe in taxes. Let the city / county go bankrupt and allow the gov't to take over. I am tired helping support the other 85 percent. Albany has become a society of welfare recipients who will live off of anyone. Talking about freeloadeers.

Go look up some old newspapers and see how Paul Keenan was against the building of all of these low income properties. The commissioners (who were builders) were making a killing off of them and living off the fat of the land. And our forefathers set the pattern for this abuse when they kept the black schools in poverty and did not require the same courses to graduate. MHS did not have the same text books as AHS. Now we are stuck with the deeds of the past.

Believe it or not, a Casino would pay a lot of bills around this area. Just look at the amount of money the lottery pulls out of this area. Then there is the so called machines in the back rooms of the convienance stores. The ones that never seem to get raided while the others are. I would almost think that gambling law against the machines was a County thing the way it is enforced, and the folks seen utilizing them. Wonder if the Lottery would ever release the amount of money it generates thru all it's games by County?

Gambling on land is against the law. So, unless there is something built on a body of water near Albany, they won't do it.

Had no idea Georgia has a "NO GAMBLING ON LAND" law. Wonder how they got around that law with the lottery, bingo etc.. I don't think the PULPIT will allow gaming in Georgia.

The squawker still misses the point. It's not the revenue raising that is deficient - its the spending that is out of control.
