According to Albany Fire Department reports, firefighters responded to a head-on collision about 5 p.m. on the Liberty Expressway Saturday. They deployed a spreader tool to take the door off one vehicle and handed the driver over to Dougherty County EMS ambulance emergency staff. The car’s driver had a compound fracture of a leg. Albany Police Department officers closed the westbound lanes of the Liberty Expressway just west of the Blaylock Street exit and traced the tire tracks of the eastbound car through the grassy median to the westbound lane.
