ALBANY -- Officials with the Albany Police Department questioned and released a teenager who turned himself in to the agency's Law Enforcement Center at 12:30 p.m. Monday after authorities had issued a person of interest alert on him.
Investigators wanted to talk to Devontavious Bernard "Nard" Bryant, 17, in regard to an April 24 robbery by force and aggravated battery incident on the 400 block of Cedar Avenue at Joe Malone Park, an Albany Police Department report states.
While at the park that night, several black males approached the victim and began kicking and punching him for no apparent reason. During the incident, the victim's phone was also taken, authorities say.
Detectives initially believed Bryant was one the males who attacked the victim.
Anyone with additional information on the incident can call the APD Criminal Investigation Bureau at (229) 431-3288 or provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS (8477).
