Local law enforcement agencies are inviting the public to the Annual Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony at 10 a.m. Thursday in front of the Government Center.
According to the invitation, "The ceremony is held every year in remembrance of those officers who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty."
With more than 30 years experience in law enforcement, Police Chief Walter McNeil of Quincy Fla., is scheduled as the guest speaker. Under the administration of Gov. Charlie Crist, McNeil served as secretary of the Florida Department of Corrections. Before that he was head of the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.
