ALBANY The entrance to the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport is going to be temporarily closed due to construction work on the new terminal, airport officials say.
Beginning Tuesday, May 29, the main entrance to the airport off of Newton Road will be closed to traffic as construction crews install sewer and utility lines to the new airport terminal site, Deputy Airport Director Kenneth Johnson says.
Airport employees and patrons are being asked to access the main parking lot by turning off of Newton Road into what was the exit road for the airport. One lane will be used for entering the airport and one lane will be used for exiting the facility, Johnson says.
The main airport road is expected to reopen when work is completed June 8.
