On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I offer congratulations to Albany Advocacy Resource Center Executive Director Annette Bowling on receiving the 2012 Liberty Bell Award, presented by the Dougherty Circuit Bar Association during its annual celebration of Law Day.
I also want to commend Dougherty Circuit Bar President Charles Lamb, President-elect Jason Wilcox and all of the members who contributed to the observance of Law Day, which featured remarks by Pataula Judicial Circuit Superior Court Chief Judge Joe C. Bishop on the necessity of adequate funding of our courts. Law Day is intended to enhance public awareness of the importance of the rule of law and the judicial branch of government.
Successful programs such as these are an inspiration to all Georgia lawyers as we seek to fulfill both our duty to help others and our high calling as stewards of the justice system. Congratulations to the Dougherty Circuit Bar Association on an outstanding 2012 Law Day observance.
