Former President Jimmy Carter is not scheduled to teach Sunday School this Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains.


A gospel sing is planned at 7 p.m. on June 2 at Spence Field in Moultrie. Featured will be Mandy Harrell of Albany and Seeds of Faith of Moultrie.

Weldon Springs Baptist Church will host its Deacon and Deaconess Fellowship Service at 10:15 a.m. Sunday. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Robert J. Angrish, pastor of Saint Mark AME Church in Thomasville. The church is located at 2729 Leary Road.

New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Baconton will host the 2nd district General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia Inc. annnual Missionary Day and National Baptist Day of Prayer at 3 p.m. on May 27. Guest speaker will be Geraldine West Hudley. The Baconton Community Choir, director by the Rev. Jerome Pace, will provide the music.
