ALBANY, Ga. -- A stabbing suspect was located Thursday and taken into custody, said an Albany Police Department report.
Henry Benjamin Nix III was wanted in connection with stabbing a woman in the mouth during a struggle about 4:19 a.m. Tuesday. Police reported that the 23-year-old Nix had broken into the woman's home through a window.
The woman grabbed a screwdriver to defend herself, but in the course of the struggle Nix stabbed her with it, authorities said.
Nix then ran away from the 1400 block of of Gillespie Avenue. Dougherty County EMS took the woman, who identity has not be released, to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injury.
Charges filed against Nix included aggravated assault, false imprisonment and burglary.
