ALBANY -- A man in his 70s who went missing from an assisted living facility was found a little more than 24 hours after he had wondered off, police officials say.
The Albany Police Department solicited the public's assistance with locating 72-year-old Homer Johnson Wednesday afternoon after he had been missing from the Friendship Personal Care Home, located at 723 W. Oglethorpe Blvd., since 2:30 p.m. the day before.
APD spokeswoman Phyllis Banks informed The Albany Herald at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday that Johnson had been found just a few minutes prior to stripping on the 700 block of North Cleveland Street.
"There were reports of a man stripping on the 700 block of North Cleveland Street. It turned out it was Homer," Banks said.
Johnson was otherwise found OK, Banks said.
Johnson, who is said to suffer from "slight" dementia, has had a history of wondering off but has usually returned in a shorter period of time, Banks said.
