ALBANY — Police in the area heard gunshots and responded to 1722 S. Madison St. after midnight Thursday, according to Albany Police Department reports.
After locating shell casings in the front yard, officers arrested Tarus Moore, who was in possession of a handgun, reports stated. He was in Dougherty County Jail in lieu of $3,200 bail Thursday and was charged with reckless conduct, discharging a firearm near a highway and possession of a firearm by a felon, the jail’s automated reporting system stated.
ALBANY POLICE: Albany police responded to at least 43 incidents Wednesday into the early hours of Thursday, according to available police reports. Police responded to incidents including:
— Indecent exposure, saggy pants on the 500 block of Shadowlawn Drive;
— Burglary on the 400 block of Fulse Drive, the 500 block of Don Cutler Jr. Drive, the 1500 block of Evelyn Drive, the 2200 block of Pearce Avenue and the 800 block of 21st Avenue;
— Identity fraud on the 100 block of Philema Road;
— Theft by taking on the 700 block of Park Place and the 300 block of Wells Avenue;
— Terroristic threats and acts on the 1900 block of Martin Luther King Drive;
— Possession of less than an ounce of marijuana on the 2400 block of Dawson Road;
— Motor vehicle theft on the 100 block of West Mercer Avenue and the 600 block of West Society Avenue;
— Recovered property, a purple bicycle, on the 2400 block of Clark Avenue;
— Rape, no address given;
— Sexual battery, no address given;
— Aggravated assault, juvenile molestation, no address given;
— Criminal trespass (domestic) on the 1900 block of Buck Lane;
— Assault (domestic) 500 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard, the 400 block of Lipsey Drive, the 400 block of Flint Avenue and the 1700 block of Malone Drive;
— Battery on the 600 block of Gaines Avenue;
— Domestic (unfounded) on the 900 block of Oglethorpe Boulevard, the 4000 block of Gillionville Road, the 900 block of 10th Avenue, the 700 block of Bonney View Avenue and the 200 block of Independence Drive.
DOUGHERTY POLICE: Dougherty County police responded to at least 14 calls, according to police reports.
Police responded to incidents including:
— Vehicle crash into deer on the 1800 block of Nelms Road and the 1500 block of Hancock Road;
— Identity theft on the 2100 block of Habersham Road;
— Animal control investigation on the 1700 block of Dorough Avenue;
— Family violence on the 4900 block of Hill Road;
— Theft on the 100 block of Byron Ridge Drive.
DOUGHERTY COUNTY EMS: The Dougherty County Emergency Medical Service responded to 57 calls on Wednesday.
There were 36 medical calls, 19 trauma calls an Albany Fire Department assist and a community event stand by. Medical Calls and trauma calls included, but were not limited to, six miscellaneous pain calls, four respiratory issues, three diabetic calls, two chest pains, 17 various medical calls, seven vehicle crash victims, five falls and four lacerations.
ALBANY FIRE DEPARTMENT: The Albany Fire Department responded to 11 incidents, including four activated alarms, unauthorized burn, two unattended cooking, two grass fires, dispatch canceled and a trash bin fire.
