Museum and symphony team up for concert series

ALBANY, Ga. — The Albany Museum of Art and the Albany Symphony Orchestra are co-sponsoring the first of four concerts in the new series beginning Sunday at the Albany Museum of Art.

The concert to take place is The Jane and Harry Willson Chamber Music Series. The opening will feature the Flint River Trio, who will perform a program of music by Beethoven, St. Saens and Glinka.

The series will feature a variety of small ensembles from throughout the southeast. Following each concert, there will be a reception and informal commentary with the musicians.

“The Albany Symphony Orchestra is delighted to be able to partner with the Albany Museum of Art in presenting intimate concerts of varied small groups of musicians in the setting of a museum,” music director Claire Fox Hillard said. “It also gives me a great deal of pleasure to be able to honor Jane and Harry Willson for their steadfast, generous, loyal support of the arts in Albany.”

Tickets for each concert are available for online purchase or at the door, $20 each or $10 for students. Tickets can be purchased for the series at $60 or $30 for students.
